Sunday Afternoon Painting in the Evanston Art Center Faculty Exhibit

Michelle Kogan painting in the Evanston Art Center Galleries

This past Sunday afternoon I was working on one of my paintings for the closing of the Faculty Exhibit at the Evanston Art Center. A handful of instructors set up their easels for an open house that the EAC held for prospective and current art students and art enthusiasts to come and see how we create our work. The rainy/icy February Chicago afternoon brought out a small crowd of interested viewers.

The painting I’m working on above is part of a solo exhibit I will be in this summer called Michelle Kogan Narratives of Nature. Its taking place at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago from July 13 – October 13, 2013. I’ll post more info on the exhibit as the date draws closer. This is a painting I began in the park outside of the Lincoln Park Conservatory. I was working with one of my plein air students on a warm fall morning.
