A Poem for day one of National Poetry Writing Month

April 1st is the First Day of National Poetry Writing Month.

To participate online and write 30 poems in 30 days  here’s a link to the National Poetry Writing Month blog: http://www.napowrimo.net

Here’s my first poem

Mustache Surprise

Mustache cloud
sitting in the sky
over a silver beam of light…
one, two crisscrossing
three pairs of wings soaring high

Detail from "Through A Sunflower" pencil with 3 birds-blog

This drawing is a pencil sketch detail for the picture book I’m working on called  Through a Sunflower. I added a couple extra birds for the poem.
