Wiry Winney Rides Again
© Michelle Kogan

Wiry Winney whirled
through town
terrifying children
all around

Small in frame
but mean in game
children cried
when they heard her name

Wiry Winney was
always seen
right around

Was she real
or just a mirage
creeeaking out
behind your garage?

Her creepiest trick
showered in rat love
was with that mysterious
pumpkin floating above

Wiry Winney was
last seen
haunting black cats
last Halloween

Is she coming
again this year?
Are you ready…
she’ll fill you with fear

I see her do you?
The skies are murky,
but she’s on her broomstick
and her tricks are lurrrky..
