I’m celebrating books and bookmarks today, just because I love both and because I have a bevy of bookmark offerings in my online Etsy shop that would love to meet up with one of your books at, Michelle Kogan Fine Art . BOOKMARKS
Pieces of paper
poking out of
your pages–
Grab one
nab one
you just gotta
have one …
Tall ones
short ones–
Do you have a favorite one?
By that special author
or that special artist,
or that special critter,
or that one over there …
It became special
just … Because.
Oh me oh my,
your high and dry
without uh one.
We can fix that
in a hurry, but you
better scurry.
Think of all those words
all left alone,
all by themselves–
When you two are in
a completely different zone,
or maybe you’re on that
silly phone,
or I don’t know,
maybe you’re just
off on your own.
Awww now you’re all
tied up in knots,
and you can’t see any words,
but your seeing … SPOTS!
Drop EVERYTHING–
Run right out this minute–
Beg, buy, borrow,
but find a bookmark,
or there may never be
another tomorrow!

Wonderful post, Michelle! I love bookmarks. I pick up so many wherever I go I have to weed my collection every so often. But yours are stunning! What beautiful, beautiful bookmarks. I now think your poem should go with every set you sell!

Your bookmarks are beautiful and your poem just dances down the screen. Now if only I could ever find a real bookmark when I need one. I end up using whatever scrap of paper–receipts, gum wrappers, business cards, ribbon–I can find. Maybe I should write a poem with my list of unconventional bookmarks!

Beautiful! Wouldn’t it be a great idea if a bookmark would print off on the back of a receipt at a bookstore – especially one that was apropos for the book being purchased? Of course, they wouldn’t be as nice as yours!

Beautiful, Michelle! Like other folks, I do collect them. I still don’t always have them on hand when I’m reading — I’ve been known to use my phone as a bookmark, among other things!
That’s funny Tabatha, though I do occasionally use my phone to hold a book open, and I’ve used many different things for bookmarks too, thanks!

I’m a fellow bookmark lover! I tend to purchase bookmarks (and Christmas ornaments) when I travel. Both remind me of places I’ve been. Your bookmarks are beautiful and so is your poem.
