Happy Poetry Friday
I’m participating in a Plein Air event this Sunday, July 8, 2018
The 9th Annual
Brush with Nature
at the
Emily Oaks Nature Center
4650 Brummel Ave, Skokie, IL
9:00 am – 12:00 pm
If you are in the neighborhood drop by and say hello.
The Nature Center is also offering a pancake breakfast (for a fee) but I won’t be indulging there as I will be busy with my brush …
Here’s a plein air ditty to wet your appetite …
PLEIN AIR
Plein airing in the park
by the bay, by a lark–
Put up your easel,
pick up your brush–
Your natural muse,
Nature …
With her vibrant views.

Somewhere
in the old leaves
of fall
Bunnies huddle,
new noses
quivering
Waiting to wander
in the fresh

Patricia Stohr-Hunt at her blog The Miss Rumphius Effect is hosting the Poetry Friday Roundup, thanks for hosting Pat! Stop by her blog for more poetry offerings.
Love your painting, Michelle. Also Donna’s bookmark and poem are adorable.
Thanks Brenda, I’m enjoying the bookmark filled with Donna’s poems!
I love your painting, too, and all things bunnies. I’ve seen some new little ones hopping around recently. Donna’s gifts are wonderful!
Thanks Linda, it was a lovely package to open. If these little critters weren’t so cute I’d be after them for eating so many flowers in my garden …
Awwwwwwww what is it about a bunny that just melts me? What a delightful poem….that could maybe even be an inspiration for a plein air painting, perhaps? Isn’t swapping poetry so much fun? I love a chance to play with other creatives! Happy Poetry Friday.
Thanks Linda, they are cute, if they weren’t it’d be hard to deal with their eating the tops and leaves of so many of my plants …
Love Donna’s bookmarks! How cute are they??
I associate plein air painting with James Gurney because he writes about it so often. Are you familiar with him? He’s a really nice human (http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/search/label/Plein%20Air%20Painting). Have fun!
Hi Tabatha, thanks for the link to James Gurney’s site, looks interesting, I’ll have to spend some more time there.
You’ve convinced me that I need to attend one of the en plein air events I keep seeing cropping up in my area. What a lovely way to spend a summer day! I loved seeing your treasures from Donna. I’m working on her package now! 😉
Yes, do try a plein air workshop out–they are special filling and refueling so many of our senses!
Your plein air event sounds wonderful–I’ll have to see if there is anything similar going on in my neck of the woods. I love how nature inspires you and how beautifully you capture her “vibrant views.” Donna’s bunny bookmark is too cute and the poem with its quivering anticipation is also a delight. Great post!
Thanks Molly–I love being out in nature!
Wow! There is so much to love from your paintings (hope you had beautiful weather for the plein air painting) and and verse to those bookmarks from Donna. Those are lovely bunny verses to keep you place.
Thanks Kay! I like the bunny poems and book mark. We had a wonderful day for painting–I decided to go with a larger sheet of paper so the painting will take a bit of time to finish …
