Happy Poetry Friday!
Tabatha Yeatts created a “glowing” acrostic poem-bookmark for me for the Summer Poetry Swap, thanks so much Tabatha, and thanks for organizing the swap again this summer too, xo!
She used some of my art as the background. I like the detail she used, and may have to borrow the idea to make additional bookmarks for my Etsy Shop.
In hearts open wide.

Here’s a golden shovel, tune inspired thank you poem for Tabatha, which I need to deliver to Michelle Heidenrich Barnes’ Today’s Little Ditty poetry padlet, for Jesse Anna Bornemann’s Reader Spotlight ditty challenge this month.
YOU LIGHT UP OUR DAY!
Lift up your head, you
who’ve given us all so much– You must
relish all our praise, for we appreciate
your acts of poetic kindness, and the
joy you bring us lights up our day!

My borrowed lines are: Lift up your head, and You must appreciate the day.
Although, I’m going to reveal this tune for it falls short in one area of the prompt. While it is by a former Beatle it may not be so very well known…
A small note… I’ve been a bit absent and hope to be visiting the Poetry Friday Blog posts after this Sunday. I’ve been busy readying a picture book manuscript and dummy submission that has a due date this Sunday. Looking forward to reading all of your posts!
Kat Appel at her blog Kat Whiskers is hosting this weeks Poetry Friday Roundup with a bevy of books coming out by friends of hers and a spank’n new picture book, a rural rhymer by our host herself. Thanks for hosting Kat, and congrats on the new picture book!
