Morning Light Poem and Sketch for NaPoWriMo day 13, 2014

Morning Light

Morning light rolled out before me
hid behind a cloud and
re-emerged, growing and warming.
The grand sun
bathed me
in its warmth,
the familiar scent of
spring rain tickled my senses,
and birds were present
creating a euphony of song.
Ra-ta-tat-tat mr. woodpecker
pecked away at his tree
while robins flooded the
treetops and below a cool breeze
kissed my cheek,
and a mourning dove danced
around before taking flight…
