Spring City Critters
I’ve been
waiting for
my bunny, and
she showed up
when I wasn’t
expecting her.
I c r e e e p t
up– But, oh
the leaves
criiinkled
beneath
my
feet,
and she
shot off–
One yard,
two, three
too far.
I decided
to settle
for my
sparrows,
when . . .
Shuffle,
shuffle,
shuffle,
squirrel,
squirreled
out from my
column–
What
Are
You
Up To?
Leap, leap,
off he went.
Ahh sparrow,
you’re stoically
holding your place
Hoooraaaaaaaay!

Such a fun backyard adventure with your sketch and bouncy, shuffly poem. Such a joyful combination of talents, image and words.
Thanks Margaret, I’ll have to be quieter next time–To get a sketch of the cottontail.
