Poetry Friday-March for Kids Lives

March-for-kids-lives-m-kogan-3-23-2018

Happy Poetry Friday!

I’m getting ready for another March in Chicago–this Saturday’s March For Our Lives. I’m sharing a tanka poem and my poster that I will carry. I hope to get the backside of the poster done before the March.

KIDS–SCHOOLS-NEIGHBORHOODS

Guns gotta go–
Schools gotta be safe
for kids to learn and grow!
Neighborhoods gotta be safe
for kids to meet and play!

Second Amendment’s
archaic–A militia
securing a free state?
Bearing guns doesn’t protect
Kids–Schools–Neighborhoods!

The industrious poet Laura Purdie Salas at Writing the World for Kids is hosting this weeks Poetry Friday Roundup. Thanks Laura!
